|1 of 2 Boss 429 1969 Cougars built by Kar Kraft Brighton for Mercury Racing Division in April 1969. One car going as built to Don Nicholson for he and Earl Wade to modify as they saw fit. Second car was transferred to a second contract builder to be built using a format fitting an upcoming NHRA class called Pro Stock for the 1970 season. This car was also to be primarily used by Mercury as a promotional vehicle at the race track to promote Mercury's Hi Performance Tune Up Clinics held at select Mercury dealerships across the USA. Eddie Schartman was the steward of this Mercury owned factory hot rod. Can't call it a muscle car as this is a one of a kind vehicle I find far too unique to wear the title of muscle car. Hi my name is Doug Herzog and I am resurrecting this Boss. As all race cars many times evolve from one year to the next, the remains of this Boss 429 have been poorly cared for so the build will be quite involved. See Facebook page by same title for build updates.
